Applying as an international student poses multiple challenges as students applying from abroad often have additional standardized tests they must take and international transcripts are often difficult to transcribe for admissions officers. For many schools, the international admissions rate is less than half that of the overall admissions rate. This means that international students are competing against each other in numbers just as large as domestic US students but for fewer spots.
